Madness Bleed nipple disaster

Hello. I am refurbishing some rear brake callipers that I have spare and intend to paint and fit to my spider. Now, both Bleed nipples were stuck solid and I tried heat, freeze but still would not budge, I sheered one nipple off and the other I cut off.

I drilled through one of the bleed nipples with no problem, got to the bottom carefully and now I can see the seat where the bleed nipple sits, I just need to tap the thread and I am all done.

The second one however didn't go that well. as I was drilling to make the hole slightly larger (before using the bigger drill piece) the drill snagged and snapped in the hole. I had to saw off the drill bit as I couldn't remove it or get it out. I tried to punch a centre in the sawn off drill bit to align the bigger drill and went on my way. Unfortunately when I have drilled, it has been offset quite a bit to where the nipple sits.

How do I repair this? It looks like I need something like this but I am not sure.

Any advice?

Have you damaged the caliper body or nipple thread?.. and make double sure that the nipple seat is OK in the other caliper. if you touched it with the drill it may be buggered..

You drilled a "snapped off drill bit" out?? It's not going well is it..
I'd seriously consider getting two secondhand calipers.
you can try an "Easyout" but they're dangerous in that if they snap off you'll never get it out..
there's a technique called "spark erosion" but it's expensive..

If you have to drill out anything with a right hand thread .. get some "left hand drill bits".. they work well.. better than Easyouts..

Gettin' to old for this sh*t
