1997 Spider Scorpion Alarm Issue
I have looked through a number of threads on here in relation to alarm issues but was wandering if anyone has any further ideas of what I can try. A very brief back story, im borrowing the Alfa off my dad for a while and up until yesterday everything was fine.
I went to use the car yesterday after leaving it parked up for a week. Basically the battery was completely flat so I took it out charged it for a while and the car started I took it for a 20 mile drive up the motorway to get some more charge into the battery and give it a run.
After this I came out to the car later to put the roof up for the night. On opening the door all the indicators start flashing, previously when this has occurred I have just pressed the button on the fob and all has been fine.
Unfortunately this time the alarm is completely unresponsive to both key fobs, the indicators just continue to flash. The only way I have found to make the car usable is to disconnect the battery turn the ignition to MAR then reconnect the battery, this is then fine until I turn the car off.
Is there a re pairing sequence or a reset I can do to make it work again? so far iv tried removing the battery overnight which made no difference and pressing a fob button whilst the ignition is set to MAR. Failing that I assume il have to locate the scorpion control box (behind the instrument panel?) and remove it. If so has anyone got any recomendations of straight replacements if such a thing exists?
