Bounncey bouncey, bang! Rear spring advice please.

Loaded the trusty GTV up to the max for a 1500 mile road trip (Brighton to Isle of Mull) last week. She didn't miss a beat but it was a bit too much for one of the rear springs (yes it was my side - still carrying my winter layer...). Anyway, rear tyre scraping inside wheel arch when I go over any type of bump. Had a look underneath and the spring is bent or snapped - foowked! Obviously I can go for original equipment but up for suggestions that might improve things - any ideas??

got a pair of these seem ok so far (500 miles)

Your bumps stop and holder will also have snapped/bent so you may need to replace them as well. Also if the springs werent getting much support from the shocks theyre probably shot
Thats the thing with Alfas- One thing leads to another!

+1 on those, perfectly adequate, I'd get some kyb shocks at the same time. Its a good setup, if you're after a nice, like new OEM ride. The rear end will sit quite high on them for a few weeks but it settles down after a few hundred miles.
