For all of those who have been suffering the same symptoms:-
1. Good braking on the freeway, but no final "bite" when needed in an emergency.
2. Cold, low pedal pressure squeal that goes away when the brakes afre warmed up.
Bleed your brakes!
I followed the two patterns available on this blog and had great success. I used about three quarters of a bottle of fluid and bled the clutch just in case.
The hardest part was jacking up the Spider and putting her on jack stands.
The two patterns are:-
1. RH Rear
2. LH Rear
3. LH Front
4. RH Front
Press the pedal rapidly and with quite some force for this first pattern. It will clear any air from the ABS valves.
1. LH Front
2. RH Front
3. LH Rear
4. RH Rear
Use an assistant for this pattern, opening and closing the bleeder nipple with each stroke of the brake pedal. Open nipple, press the pedal, close the nipple, slowly release the brake pedal, unti the fluid flows clean and air free.
Hope this helps someone out.
