Alfa code + ecu reset

Would I be correct in saying if my Alfa code box aerial was elsewhere under the dash not by the ignition switch I cannot do a throttle reset or ecu reset correctly.
The reason my aerial is elsewhere is because the car alarm fitted has a remote start feature so basically there is a key chip taped to the aerial out of the way.
Which I'm guessing that the turn ignition to mar 30 secs then off 30 secs it recognises the removal of the key after 1 minute passes ? But in theory the car still thinks a key is present
Same scenario for the later part of the ecu reset .
Regards to all

Turning the switch to MAR then off doesn't remove it from the aerial loop, so I don't see that it should make any difference.
