More wiper woes...

Hi all,

So my wipers recently stopped working, and after taking the entire mechanism apart, it was found to be a broken connection on the wiper PCB. Just needed re-soldering. My wipers were now working... But, in true Italian style, now they're not. Again.

After taking the scuttle panels off, I found this...

Attachment 308873

I haven't had time to look at it in any great detail yet due to work commitments, so I'm not sure whether this can be fixed or whether anything needs replacing. It looks like there should be a groove under the black cap for the bit underneath to sit in, but I couldn't feel anything obvious upon quick inspection, so just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.

It looks like the broken/loose bits should come off without needing the whole wiper arm mechanism replacing if it comes to it though... Right? Right?...

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I think taking the whole mechanism out might be easier than just replacing bits. I removed the one from the GTV I am breaking in just a few seconds (it's only a few bolts)! If you want it let me know
Maybe you can fashion something to fix your existing one in situ???
