My Spder project

Hi all,

I`m trying to sort a lovely red 2000 spider for my wife ready for the summer if we are lucky enough to get one !

I wondered if I could pick your brains ? I have stripped the car down to replace the head gasket, cam belt, balance belt, water pump etc, had the head skimmed but unfortunately when I collected the head it was given to me stripped and ready for re assembly, not as I had asked and back together ready to put back on as it came off.

Would anyone have a link or info on re fitting the head and in particular the cam belt drive pulleys, tensioning the cam belt correctly with regard to the tensioner and slackening off the pulleys to achieve this.

I also need to know which dowel holes on the head the locating dowels fit in, or does this not matter providing they are symmetrically placed etc.

Ideally any info regarding procedure would be fantastic and gratefully received ,I`m a fairly competent mechanic just lacking in practice and confidence as not tackled a job like this in twenty years !
