Which Pannel Filter?

I can't afford a CDA induction kit, and am not sure it is wortht he money anyway.

So i am going to put a new filter into the standard airbox, but which one should i go for?

Re: Which Pannel Filter?

K&N is your best bet I think, but BMC and PIPERCROSS do cheaper ones as well as the Alfa performance parts places like Autodelta etc,
But on reading reviews opinions are mixed over the foam or paper type filters!
I ordered a PiperX and it was too long for the airbox......but it was right part for my car in their books!
So got a K&N and not had any problems!

Re: Which Pannel Filter?

Just be careful about getting an oiled filter, lots of reports of MAF's being damaged by the oil in aftermarket filters.

Re: Which Pannel Filter?

using a BMC replacement filter instandard box in mine and all seems fine and no maf problems etc. obviously same manufacturer as CDA unit anyway. if you increased the standard intake to 100mm diameter you should get the same improvements for the full CDA kit [apparently].

as noted above by P17sut several manufacturers quote the wrong length replacement unit and list the TS as having the same filter as the 3.0 and they're not. BMC however do specific filters for each engine so it fits a treat also not overly oiled.

good luck.
let everyone know what you end up with.

Re: Which Pannel Filter?

I used K&N on most of my past cars and now on my scoob, and a pipercross for the 146Ti, the spider will get one for the summer.
Just a note about oil and MAFs, most problems are when people clean and re oil the filters and put to much on, when they come new they are normaly fine.
