I used to own an Alfa 147 that I never really bonded with, final straw was when it broke down whilst away in Edinburgh and had to get towed about 7 hours home - from then on it had plenty of money chucked at it and nothing I could find fixed the problem (Selespeed; my mistake probably for picking it!).
I now drive a diesel Golf (brilliantly reliable, great mpg, enough power etc. but boring. Mega boring. Soooo boring.) and have a split-owned MX5 between my self and a friend that we are track prepping.
Now, here's the problem (or the background for my reasoning anyway); I don't live far from work, with a new house that's in the pipeline my commute will be reduced to approx. 10 miles each way (mpg will not be an issue - why do I need
a diesel golf then??)
The MX5 isn't tickling my fancy, RWD is good fun in the wet but it's a) slow and b) sounds a bit like a hairdrier.
I need a decent suzed boot (got a dog that's growing at 4kg a day, by the bloody food he eats) so maybe having a GTV as my daily and a shed for weekend dog duties would suit? Failing that it'll be sell up all my wordly posessions and spunk a load of money on a 330i touring or a Volvo T5 and miss out on the lovely V6 GTV noiseyness
Convince me either way guys (and girls).
All the best,
