When buying or owning cars IMHO there really is factually no wrong or right car, the right car is the one you
enjoy. Right now the question.
I have owned/own two previous Italian cars and some might say slightly exotic, I always fancied an Alfa because of this (though if I'm honest before this too) but my ex was not for it.
So I divorced
and bought an even dafter Italian sports car with a roof but still yearned for open top motoring.
My girlfriend fell in love with the 916 Spider, so after much deliberation I bought one, promised her when she passes her driving test she can have it.
It's a phase one TS, it says 150bhp but mine does not have that I'm sure, but it does have a sound (yes even that 4 pot sounds bloody good) and a presence. In the sunshine after buying it going through the local town where we live a few people suggested it was a Ferrari
Anyway I bought my GT as a daily hack because of that. The GT is a diesel and I love it, but would if something else came up, sell that tomorrow whereas the Spider, we'll I can't ever see that going unless I really, really break it
Next and sometime in the future I want either a Maserati 3200/4200 or a 916GTV/Spider V6. I reckon that will take some beating.
So yes go and buy a GTV and if you can stretch, a V6. You know in your heart you want to, these cars for the money to purchase are unbeatable. My Spider is the best car £ for fun, car I've ever owned.
