GTV 3.0 V6 for sale.

Hi all, having acquired a rather special GTV, the one-off Alfaholics GTV, my current V6 is for sale.

I'm looking for around 2450 o.n.o

Its had an awful lot spent on it recently, more than I can probably remember or care to think about!

November 1998 Ph 2 GTV 3.0 V6

Private plate (included in sale)

Grigio Chiaro Metallazato Silver

Black Momo interior, Red carpet

Upgraded speaker and head unit

Falcon Phaser central locking kit

Two red keys, and brown master key

Rear aero spoiler, standard "teardrop" alloys (recently refurbished)

79k miles

Recent work includes:

New lightweight GTA clutch and flywheel

New Quaife LSD

New clutch slave cylinder

Wizard cat-back exhaust (twin exit)

New oil and filter change

6months tax

12 months MOT as of next week (week beginning 17th March)

Cambelt/tensioners/waterpump done at 74775 miles

New MAF sensor approximately. 2000 miles ago

New exhaust downpipes and flexis and lambda sensor done at 73134 miles

Recent new front wishbones.

Pipercross OE style air filter

Downsides:

Body work could do with some attention.

There is usual stone chip rash on the front of bonnet and front bumper.

It has a few parking dents, and a poorly painted scratch that is visible from some angles but not others on the drivers door.

Finally it has a small rust patch on the rear quarter. I've filled it to prevent any ingression of moisture, with the intention of getting it properly sorted in the summer, but with the arrival of the GTV that can't get done!

She's had a lot of work and Thousands spent in the past few months alone, let alone the past 3 years she has been in my care.

Just needs somebody to finish the job.

Any more question either PM me, or call or message me on 07793538003. If I don't answer, leave a message and I shall get back to you, due to work I'm unable to answer the phone during the day but leave it on.

Photos coming shortly.

Many thanks for looking!

James.

Ps, the red and silver badges on the boot and wings are Alfa Centenary badges.

Its cheap at that price, given the big jobs done and that the things left to do, ie cosmetic are pretty easy & cheap to do. Would have thought with the low mileage and upgrades this should be north of 3500?

You would have thought yeah. But realistically I doubt it would go for that. You're right, all the big jobs have been done very recently. Just needs somebody to do the last couple of bits.

This could be what is putting people off.

Any chance of photos showing exactly what the problem is?

This is all I have at the moment, and to be honest you can't see any more anyway. Its about 30mm x 10 mm roughly, not sure the exact reason why its come about. I understand its probably off putting for some, but as has been previously mentioned, its had a lot spent on it mechanically, just needs somebody to finish off the bodywork and cosmetics.

I wouldn't say people are being put off quite yet as it has only been a week and V6 Alfas, well Alfas in general can take a long time to sell privately. If the car is still available in a month or two then I may be in a position to take a look. I would just be wasting the sellers time if I did right now, as much as I would like to test drive it right now

some might (unfairly) come to the conclusion that there must be something wrong with the car to change it for the same model despite having spent a shed load on it. might be worth explaining a bit more about the change in the ad

Bump! And just to add, work was done on the sills to sort some minor corrosion out during the MOT, and I've tidied the filler better on the rust patch, no sign of reoccurrence. Unfortunately I'm not being allowed to upload any more photos, reached a max quota or something apparently.

Sold! To a lovely chap from Tenbury Wells. Hope he has as much fun as I did with her. He'll be lurking around here at some point I believe.

Thanks James for your patience with this deal but I had to sell the TVR first. What a fantastic car the GTV is. The noise is incredible! The brakes weren`t as good as I expected (oops!) but look forward to becoming an active member of the forum.

Standard brakes aren't up to much, or at least the pads aren't. I would suggest updating the pads if you can. Theres Ferodo DS2500 on the front of mine now, and they seem fantastic to me, and there's many on here that will say the same.

PS, it was a pleasure I'm glad its gone to somebody who will look after it. We had a rocky time together, but she just needed some work after a few less caring owners before me I suspect. It is ultimately a very rewarding car, hence why I've now got a second!
