Accelerator Potentiometer. Where is it ... exactly?
I have a 1999 GTV 3.0 6V 24V PHASE 2
It usually idled normally but now and again the revs would increase to about 1500 rpm for a few seconds and then drop back down... in hindsight a niggle I could have lived with.
I decided to do a throttle reset and made matters worse. The revs now increase up to 2500 rpm and it does it a lot more frequently... something I now can't live with, especially stopped at traffic lights with the revs racing and burning up all the fuel.
Diagnostics reported: P0220 Accelerator pedal potentiometer - inconsistent signal
I know the potentiometer is located in the drivers footwell behind the fuse box but where exactly and what does it look like? Photograph(s) would prove extremely useful. I have searched other threads to no avail and others have asked for the same but no one has obliged. I'm hoping someone can do it this time.
I would like to disconnect the connector to rule out poor connectivity. I'm hoping this might be the case as rummaging behind the fuse box trying to locate the potentiometer has improved the idling a little.
