Unpleasant Pheasant - grill needed
Driving home Monday night great to have some sunshine, top down in the Spider, grinning daftly as just got past slow moving traffic, when spot a **** pheasant strolling out into the road. OK I though he will keep going no problem loads of time, but no, first he stops, looks, starts heading back to the verge, then divers more then, I brake, go to swerve.....etc.... but he was determined to get to the middle of the car. Just as I was preparing for the inevitable he starts to take off. End result is he hits the front of the car (or to be true the other way round, car hits bird), blood (and other internals) all up the bonnet and windscreen, I ducked down and he narrowly misses my head and hits the boot just missing joining me in the car.
So I drive home all appears OK, get out to inspect. the front grill is completely squashed against the rad ripped the lugs off and split the mounting points on the bonnet, no badge to be seen (assume it's now on a pheasant somewhere in south Cheshire). High accuracy suicide? Also has cracked the small section of the bonnet bellow where the grill was. Not a happy man.
Has anyone got a phase 2 grill/badge spare? Bonnet will have to be fixed.
