Snapped key in lock - Alfa gtv!

Morning chaps...

It could have been worse I suppose... my doors failed to pop up yesterday via the fob.... went to put key in the door and it snapped off in the lock!

It's a year 2000 Gtv - so fob is within the key, and not a Meta fob etc.

I have the brown master key and red valet key. So I can start the car and get in it, but the only key i have is now broken.

What's my next steps? I obviously need to get a locksmith out to get the old broken key out of the lock... I accept that. But how do i get a replacement key(s) with the black fob key... and a new one cut?!

Get another key cut from the brown key and then the chip cloned from the broken key

Timsons, the high street key cutters/ shoe repair company, clone keys for about 30

The brown key is nothing special, it's just the 1st key registered in the ECU

The brown key should work the passenger door to unlock and if the meta alarm is still fitted this should open the drivers door. To extract the broken key, if a bit is showing then a pair of pliers should extract it. Else taking off the door card should give access the take out the barrel which may allow extraction of the key! I've never done this so I may be talking B.......x!

a drop of superglue on the piece in your hand and then place it on the bit in the lock. hopefully it will pull out without bonding to the lock barrel. no warranty is given, just twisted logic.

a locksmith has special tools to remove the snapped part. The wife's went on her Punto, he did the new key and didn't charge any extra for removing the old blade and it only took him 5 mins.
