I think I have decided to break the GTV I have as even if I got it through an MoT, the work it would need to get to even a decent standard would not be minimal (I conservatively totalled up on a piece of paper over £1k last night) and I think if I were to have a GTV on my drive it would need to be a V6 as I have a twinny in the Spider.
Plus, Scortho makes a good point. There are a few bits on the GTV that are better than on my Spider so I could take those and make that car even better, take some other bits off the GTV and flog them so I should easily break even and send the GTV off to the scrappy with hopefully no financial loss and a better Spider on my drive.
It still doesn't get around whether to go ahead and get the tools though - as stated before, the Spider will need doing next year and part of me wants to do it for the experience and confidence for further work in the future...
I'd still get the tools if you're up for doing the cam belt yourself! They're not expensive and can be bought from totally alfa. Ignore the comments of delivery, I was sceptical after reading some comments but from order date to arrival it was about 7 days. Decent shipping time for uk to ireland.
