Chuffed to be back!
Innit funny. You pick up your 'new to you' Alfa, in this case my rather stunning GTV V6 and you spend that journey home rigid in your seat, feeling every bump and hearing every strange noise thinking 'wtf is that!? I've been such a mug - I'll never let my heart rule my head again!'
And then, after a few days and at least 2 polishing sessions (I mean the car...) you begin to relax. 'Cor, I might just have bought a good un.' And, bit by bit, you start to trust it and you start to drive it how you're s'posed to. And bugger me, you start to enjoy driving again!
Having come back to Alfas after a good few years away I'm super-chuffed that I took the plunge. A well sorted GTV is quite a thing. Soulful V6 with a not too loud but much free-er breathing exhaust is just intoxicating. And she likes to rev! Q2 diff for peace of mind and better handling on the limit is almost a must. Brakes pretty good up to a point (will upgrade when things wear out a bit) and standard suspension in fine fettle does the job. Feels planted and I must say, really comfy on journeys.
But almost better than all that, is the way she looks. Subtle, purposeful, a little bit aggressive and, I must say, beautiful in black. And rare. What can touch it for 4 grand? Not a lot I'd say. And I don't think the good ones will go any way but up!
And this community is just the icing on the cake - glad to be back on board, fellas! (I'm a bit too old for icons)
