TS Gearbox oil replacement - oil flush.
Hello again folks,
Apologies for the double topics but i figured it would be better to split 2 technical questions into 2 topics for the benefit of anyone searching for similar problems.
I have completely the wrong oil in my gearbox, 80w90 GL4 mineral. It is the wrong spec and the wrong thickness and has ruined my gearchange and probably isn't doing my gearbox any good. I now have the correct stuff - 75w80 GL5 synthetic (supplied by shop4parts and i did notice the slight spec change). I notice the correct oil is so much thinner than what i put in so no wonder my gearchange is so bad.
What is the best way to handle this? Should i just drain and refill or do i need to flush the gearbox first? If so, how should I flush it? My thoughts was to do the drain and refill. Run for 1000 miles and then do another fluid change.
