Short circuit, no power to code box

Here is a new variation on the code box problem.

I put the car away last week and went on holiday, came back this week and now it won't start.

I don't get the key symbol illuminating in the dash at all and on testing the keycode ecu it seems to have no power on the direct feed or ignition feed.

I have discovered a blown fuse in the engine bay which blows again instantly when I replace it with the designated 7.5 amp fuse.
So I can't start the car. Just turns over no life anywhere else.
It is a 2001 v6 spider.

Attached is a photo of the location of the fuse - right of engine bay near the suspension strut. It is the brown 7.5 amp one in the middle with its cap off.

Looking at the wiring diagram this appears to be the direct feed to the motronics ecu (S46), so why would that cause the key ecu not to have power. Or am I reading the wiring diagram wrong?
The fuse has 2 red wires running to it, one slightly thicker than the other, the fuse to the right has 2 orange wires running to it, which from the diagram looks like it is the feed to the key ecu, and it's fuse is ok.

I am not very good electrically and I will likely take it to a dealer, just wanted to see if I could get a heads up from you guys before the dealer tells me i have to replace big chunks of the engine.

Any insight would be appreciated.
