just a quick one, having had my cambelt, tensioners and all the gubbins involved in that, done on monday. I lifted the bonnet up yesterday just to see if anything looked shiney and new. Nothing did, now i know notting about engines or cambelts, but can anyone tell me if anything external to the engine should look like new part after this work being carried out? or is it all internal, the belt dosen't seem to look much different either.

Re: quickie

the cambelt, tensioner are usually hidden at the lower left side of the engine and it is covers, you cannot see it if the cover is not lifted! well... that's for my 2.0 v6

Re: quickie

I try to ask for the old parts, so I can see they've been replaced. Other times the mechanic looks like he'll smash my face in for implicitly suggesting that he might not change the parts, so I leave him to get on with it.

Re: quickie

When the cambelt is changed its good practice to write the milage and date on the cover.
