Warning Well at least it's done.......

Picked up car from Intaservices in Leicester having booked it in for Cam belt work. Also asked him to fit boot badge i got off ebay (had been missing since i purchased car) and got him to do an oil and filter change...........grand total was £685.60p.............thank god i got the car for a bargain £2000!!!!
I just gotta trust (i generally don't trust) that the oil and filter was changed and quaility oil was put in etc and cambelt bits were all new etc, not suggesting it wouldn't of been but you do here stories. Anyway plus side is i didn't get service history with car (i know it was seviced correctly as it's was my girlfriends step dads) but now at least i have some evidence of cambelt being done if i choose to sell it. have i done the right thing!!!

Re: Well at least it's done.......

£685 is a little on pricey side for an independent, but at least its all done now and you can enjoy the bella without fretting.

I was in at my mechanics yesterday and I noticed a V6 gtv that was in a few weeks before. I enquired with mechanic and he gave a rueful smile. The car was in for other work some 2-3 weeks before, at the time the owner was advised to have the cam belt et al changed as they were overdue, he declined, funds were a bit tight. Yep, you guessed.... the cam belt has snapped. OUCH !
