Anyway since then I've gotten a replacement phase 1 gearbox for it and am currently shopping for parts to add onto it.
The engine has 142k miles on it and had the belt replaced back in February.
However my friend who is doing the work for me (for a very cheap price) will be taking the engine out when changing the box.
With that in mind it makes sense to do some extra "preventative maintenance" work.
So parts decided on so far are:
A new clutch
New timing belt, balance belt, idlers and tensioners and water pump plus variator.
Auxiliary belt I take it as well?
Replace rocker cover gasket
Coolant, break fluid, oil change, air and oil filter change etc.
With all those parts left I should have 2-300 quid left over. The suspension is solid and the car has a new exhaust and rad.
Does anyone have anything else/suggestions to add, especially as the labour costs won't be going up!
She'll also be getting resprayed as there's a good bit of lacquer peel (I think it's best to stick with rosso red) but that budget is separate.
