Fuel Pump Replaced - Fuel Gauge Stopped Working
I recently posted about a whining fuel pump. The pump has been replaced and the awful noise has gone. As seems to be the case with these things, a secondary fault has developed - the fuel gauge reads empty with the light permanently on.
For a bit of background, the car is a Phase 2 03 reg TS. I bought the pump off eBay - the seller asked me to specify car so he could send the correct version. The pump was fitted by an Italian specialist in SE London.
Doors anybody have any possible candidates for the problem and solutions? From my limited thoughts I can only think of:
1) I've been sent a pump that is incompatible with the car (CF3 2.0??)?
2) The pump has been fired incorrectly
3) A fundamental part of the pump is faulty, although as I've just driven 300 miles, not the pump itself
After having a few issues sorted out (I only got the car 3 weeks ago), this is the only thing holding the old girl back from being perfect (for a 10 year old anyhow).
