TS cam belts etc.
Just finished doing the cam/balance belts and tensioners on my TS, did plugs too whilst I was at it as I had 2 spare unused sets that I picked up, I'll keep the old ones as spares as I know they're reliable. Although it's 5 years old I really only use it for long distances and touring on the continent, hence only 21 000 miles. Bought the kit from Mangoparts and the cam locks and plug adaptor from tool supplier. Very straight forward but a fair amount to do. The proper tools make it easy. Only real problem - the cam belt cover screws, there are quite a few and have different lengths. Bagged and labelled everything as I went and took my time torquing as per manual. The belts come with reference marks on them to help. However note that the idler wheel (made in Germany) for the cam belt sounds dry so I don't know how much longer it would have lasted. Next time I'll probably do variator and water pump too. If anyone wants details pm me. I know some say if it ain't broke don't fix it but I'm a great believer in preventative maintenance especially considering the horror stories over TS cambelts etc.
