Re: Window Woes!
this is interesting... I've got a similar situation with my passenger door window. It stopped working one day (thankfully it was up at the time!), pressing the switch would only result in a click from somewhere in the door. If I tried it too many times, the click would start triggering every few seconds like yours. I tried taking the fuses out, but of course this meant I couldn't use the driver's window, which was working fine. So I disconnected the battery for a few minutes, and on re-connection the clicking didn't start up, much to my relief (my motor was VERY hot to the touch too). I'm supposed to be getting the motor/regulator replaced, but I just wonder if it might be the control unit that's at fault what with the 'click cycle' that gets triggered, and the fact that disconnecting the battery seems to clear whatever's causing to keep clicking.
I've tried all the connections I could find: switches, the connections to the motor inside the door, the socketed connection to the door (disconnecting and re-connecting that triggers the click cycle too)... nothing seems amiss. I suspect it's either the motor, or the control unit (which I think is conveniently hidden behind the dash).
