Hi - I am slowly in the process of upgrading my v6 exhaust and have started from the rear, moving forwards.
The motivation for this is longevity and weight, with performance increases and improved sound being secondary.
Firstly I changed the rear section for this IMG_2621 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
(with thanks to Neil) make unknown but stainless and OK quality
Now, following an eBay purchase I am changing the centre section to this from Supersprint Centre exhaust., ALFA ROMEO GTV 3.0 V6 24V '98 ?? '05
I bought some downpipes from euro car parts - they are reasonable quality, stainless but have not got the smooth curves of say for example the alfaholics pipes. Not fitted them yet and might not either as I am now seeking some advice from those in the know.....
My v6 is a cf3, so has cats in the manifolds. I am aware that many have fitted non cat cf2 manifolds to cf3 engines - can anyone tell me what are the implications of this on the ability to pass emissions on mot?
Next question, are there any alternative manifolds available for the v6? Stainless?
Does choice of manifold affect what down pipes can be fitted?
Essentially I am looking to replace manifolds, down pipes and cat section and being on a tight budget (or just tight) I will be trying to pick up used parts as and when I can find them but I don't want to buy parts that are not compatible.
Help, advice and input as always much welcomed
Oh and offers of parts you might have stashed in the shed....
