Electric window problem - GTV

How do,

The electric windows on my GTv have not been right since I got it 2 years ago. the drivers window used to go up and dwon but only 1cm at a time. this has now ceased to operate completely (fortuneatley the window is now fully up!)

I think it needs a new regulator / motor, but was looking for advice as to how to complete such an operation - I have removed the door card (finally) and am unsure as to what needs to be replaced due to the lack of visibility of the parts in question.

All suggestions welcome

Indeed it is GTV4me!

It's unfortunate that the regulator and motor are all one unit and you can't just replace the motor! Or can you? It looks rivetted in.

I have exactly the same prob and when I tried to get the part, Alfa could not get hold of it!!(for my year 99-01). Can you fit an alternative (from Alfa)? I kept being delivered with one that had a piece that attaches to the rear part of the door but the piece in particular was too short!

By drilling another hole somewhere along the same line to allow for the shortage in this arm, will this still work?
