Replacement wheels

Hi All Just purchased a Twinspark Spider (W reg) It is fitted with Azev 17" alloys and low profile tyres which give a harsh ride. I would like to change them for 'normal' Alfa alloys which in my view look better anyway. Some come in 15" and 16" anyone used 15" wheels on a spider? At my age I prefer comfort to performance...!

Don't go 15', they will look daft.

16's give the best compromise between look and comfort.

Go for the original 16" wheels unique to Spiders - I'd be sorely tempted to contact italia ^^^^^^^

Seriously the original wheels just go so well with the car.

You might be interested in this thread Also a rough ride is often vastly improved by fitting new rear shock absorbers, it certainly made a huge difference to my GTV, KYB are often stated as being the best value for money.

According to a service bill I have it had all new shocks and springs replaced by Meridien Milano about 8 thousand miles ago, cost the former owner over a thousand pounds. I presume they used 'factory' replacements. Front shocks 117.74 each plus VAT....!

Blimey you should try rolling on 18" rims......

I actually had a set of 17" Azev 5 spokes on my spider when it was imported over from Germany. Oddly the rear rims were quite a bit wider than the fronts for the true "euro" style of the late 90's.

I actually liked the 5 spoke style, but it was too wide rimmed at the rear.

I've got a set of 16" teardrops with 3k old Falken FK452s on, can provide pics if you want, they're not the original wheel for a spider, though. PM if interested.
