my twinny makeover
The engine work started yesterday, lots done. Cambelt, idlers, balance belt, water pump. New Gaiter on the nearside driveshaft (I remember putting my screwdriver through it). New Red coolant, handbrake adjusted properly after my poor attempt.
Also fixed an oil leak from the cam cover, 2 new cam belt cover panels too. New Lambda sensor to fix the ongoing EML. Cost me slightly less than £1k.
I appreciate I'm in an unusual position financially and spending this money on a car worth nowt but I maintain its still cheaper than playing Golf or buying a new car……
Still to come is the wheels and finishing the exhaust. I'm beginning to think I might like the wheels a bit brighter. I know most of you guys think I should go darker, but I can't help thinking its a passing phase and too Max Power for my liking. I don't want the car to look like its been to Halfords too often. I want it to look like the GTV Alfa might produce today, if they had the sense to do it.
The exhaust is great at the moment, I'd like it a little louder and maybe more free flowing. The car drives very smoothly but lacks low down torque. I'm wondering if its possible to do some kind of ECU reset. I'd like the car to learn my driving style, and perform a little better.
