Engine under tray question - has anyones melted?

Hi All,

My original tray caught on the 1" kerb at my driveway as I reversed into it one day and, seeing as it was barely hanging together by cable ties before, after it had bent itself double and snapped in all manner of places as a result of hitting the kerb I felt it was time to get one of the Polish ones.

The original seems to be a composite of some sort and has a heat shield on the centre where the Exhaust is, the Polish one seems to be some sort of Moulded plastic and has no Heatshield - see the photos attached.

Anyone fitted one of these Trays and wished they had a heatshield on it afterwards - i.e. will I drill out the rivets and rivet it onto the new one or am I as well to leave it alone?

(that is if I can get off the last of the original bolts that Aimlessly turns but doesn't unscrew! -Darn!)

I would fit it. But I would also fit some sound proofing in it too, like the original.

But I'm anal like that
