New GTV owner - leaks & misfire
Two days ago I left my (less than trusty) 147 behind and bought myself a Phase 3 GTV in black on an 04 plate. I was a little apprehensive to leave the TS engine behind in favour of a JTS, having done some reading around I thought I'd be safe as the expensive injector issues seem to be confined to mainly 03-plate and before cars?
I love the car and the way it drives however there are a couple of small issues that need attention - first of all it misfires randomly when accelerating hard (this triggers a dash light) and often when idling (this doesn't trigger the light but can be heard and felt). The errors showing on the ECU are Misfire Cylinder 2 and Misfire Cylinder 3. Are coil packs a common issue on these engines? Do they use longlife plugs like the TS?
The other issues are two leaks - one, very small drips of engine oil from under the front in the centre, right under the grille, level with the radiator. Definitely engine oil. This only seems to occur after parking up after a fast drive.
Also a very large clear water leak from under the bulkhead area - after the engine is warm and the coolant hot, this water is vaguely warm. Doesn't happen all the time and seems to be no rhyme or rhythm to it. Car is not losing any fluid either! But the leak is big enough sometimes to cause a river running down the car park!
If anyone can shed any light, I'd be very grateful!
