I've been and had a very good look around it for a friend that unfortunately doesn't look like he'll be able to buy it as the finance it mentions on the ad is not available because of the age of the car. The condition overall is as you would expect for such a low mileage car, the stand out thing for me was how much better the leather is than in my 113k gtv. We took it to a nearby garage and got it up on ramps for look underneath - very clean, hardly any rust at all doesn't look like it's ever been used in the winter when the roads are salty, I'd suggest who ever buys it does the same. If you want perfect you could clean up and paint the suspension arms and spring pans. I might as well go into a bit of detailed info for anyone very fussy that's interested in the car:
In the engine bay nothing appeared to have been customised in any way, all original. There's some powderyness from the aluminium down in the gap below the fuel rails, I think this is normal? Tiny pool of oil on top of the bell housing that appears to come from a rocker cover gasket, if after cleaning it up it comes back it's not that big a deal to replace those gaskets so I wasn't worried to much by this.
It has a small dent in the passenger door which we didn't spot when the car was indoors, and a small dent/scrape on the passenger side rear arch, quite minor and most people would happily live with it, but i don't imagine it would cost a great deal to get repaired. The passenger side rear wheel has weights on the inner and also the outer edge opposite, there was a note written by a mechanic on a garage bill suggesting there is some sort of problem with this wheel, but honestly driving the car we didn't notice any issues with it at all. It does have a small bit of kerb damage on this wheel as well, about 2 inch long if memory serves, again not a big job, there's also a corresponding chunk missing from the side wall of the tyre so that needs replacing.
The engine light doesn't go out until after the engine has started, not sure why but it drives VERY well, unless it was just behaving for us and saving its alfa glitches until someone parts with some cash
None of the paperwork had the engine number on, not even a photo copy of a previous owners V5, I thought this was odd but I checked the VIN on eper and the number on the engine matches. The chap said he thought it was an import (perhaps bought by someone in the armed forces in our German base? who knows) We didn't get to see any paperwork to confirm the cambelt had been changed but its very likely its only been done once because of the low mileage so due to its age is likely to be due again soon anyway. The air con just blew warm air, and the tweeter in the drivers door didn't work, think that's everything there is to mention.
At this age I doubt you'll find many with so little to put right to get it 100%.
The roof worked perfectly, The 6 speed gearbox is like new, the custom exhaust sounds *REALLY* nice - an absolute pleasure to drive. My mate is gutted he couldn't buy it, he said he was absolutely smitten - It looks *stunning* and I can't think of anything less than a ferrari that would come close for me. Hope this helps someone, I'm sure someone will really enjoy owning this one
