Got it back together. Scuba Steve, you're correct, it's self bleeding. 2 pipes to each ram, one in, one out. As always getting it back together is much easier.
Assembly problems? The only one I encountered was the split ring holding the pipes on at the pump end. When the new pipes were made, the new fittings are a poofteenth shorter from the lip that retains the split ring to the base of the fitting (sorry I forgot the photo) so I couldn't get the split ring on. I had to spend a couple of hours with a file carefully filing the base nut narrower so I could push the fitting further into the base plate and then I could get the split ring on.
Before I tried it, I fully opened the roof to reset it. The result was 'perfect operation'. Don't forget to top up the oil before folding the roof open, and again once you've operated it after each of the first couple of uses as the hoses do take a bit of oil.
I hope this helps someone in the future. It's fiddly and painstaking but not difficult.
