98 Spider Battery Replacement
My original Alfa Romeo fitted battery ('98 2L Spider) has finally given up and will not hold a charge.
You would think it a simple job to get a replacement and fit it into the rear compartment behind the drivers seat, even with the CD changer fitted. However, although all the usual places (Halfords, KwikFit, Formula One, etc.) claim compatible batteries, when they come to try to fit them they are not suitable or not a direct fit. (No venting port, wrong size, low amp/hr, terminal connections vary, etc.). Prices seem to have varied from £45 to £85 fitted. Wasted most of today touring around different suppliers trying to get a new one fitted.
Last resort! Will try the ***** Dealers in the next few days for a supply & fit price, although expecting an "arm & leg" quote.
Anyone found a direct, straight fit suitable replacement battery at a good price? Where did you get it?
