Winter layup

Very soon, (next month), the V6 will be laid up for the winter. The spider will be in a garage, but the GTV will be outdoors under a cover and a good few miles away from my home.(Therefore regular starting is out of the question).
I have laid cars up before in dry conditions, and always leave the handbrake off and in gear etc, but are there any extra tips on offer, in order to ensure the car has a pleasant enough winter and not throw up problems in the spring?

If you can put it up on axle stands, check your antifreeze and over inflate the tyres a little will all help. I'd also get a battery isolator switch as well.

What about removing the battery completely, keeping it at home and taking with me if I go to move/start it.(Going upto Staffs at some point for body repair & paint.

Dis connect or remove the battery. Make sure that the wind can get around it to keep condensation at bay, not parked in a sheltered corner and it's on hard standing not grass or gravel. If you don't already have one, Halfords covers are brilliant.
