The saga continues, and I am hoping beyond hope that this is normal and I am being paranoid......
So, I changed the radiator and hoses, replaced all clips with nice mikalor stainless ones. Cleaned up the alloy hose connections from the engine. After filling up the system with coolant and bleeding the radiator at the top car has been running just fine, temp gauge just where it should be. Car has had 3 thirty minute drives.
However, this morning, thought I'd check the coolant level again, as it seemed to be dropping by an inch below minimum after each drive - I had put this down to the system relieving itself of trapped air here and there, bearing in mind the new radiator and hoses. Once again this morning after using the car yesterday, the coolant is sat an inch below minimum, so of course, I shall top it up now.
Had a quick feel around the pipe clamps and a visual inspection with a torch - everything feels dry, no sign of coolant residue anywhere and no drips from under tray. So my questions are - is it normal after a radiator change for the coolant level to take a while to stabilise? If the system is still leaking, where else could it be leaking from? Anyone experienced similar after a radiator change?
Many thanks, Tom
