Strut Change - Advice?

I'm going to be replacing my tired old front struts & springs for nice new shiny Koni adjustable's and springs. Have you got any tips/tricks or pointers that I should be aware of, when replacing the struts?

Have a look at the thread Euroboy did a while ago. Fairly straight forward but you will need spring compressers and be careful. Some members have taken the new strut and springs to a local friendly garage to assemble and then it's just a matter of fixing the new strut in place. Are you re-using the metal top piece with the 3 bolts in ? or have you got a new pair? They are quiet expensive, so if the ones on your car are in good condition re-use them. The large top bolt needs a breaker bar or an air gun, best to loosen the nut before you remove the strut from car.

I recently had mine fitted by a local indi, I suppied the parts but they needed to get new bump stops and also the "turrets" they attach to needed replacing as rotted. Were really thin metal so good chance your are gone too.

Good luck, new shocks and springs were great on my 107k car. Maybe even more fun than the Q2
