Re: HELP ON VALUATION - GTV 2l 16v TS 97 P ?
CAP trade price guide only lists a car of your age at 80K miles, with a trade buying-in price of £2925, retail £4525. A 99 on an "S" plate of about your mileage is valued about £1K more - so yours maybe £400 - £500 more.
On a private sale, you'll get much nearer the trade price than retail, because of lack of warranty, primarily. Unless your timing belt / tensioner has been changed already, get them done before sale or expect buyer to chip at least £40 to allow for the job - its overdue!
I'd guess the problem with autotrader is partly due just to location - there just aren't enough buyers in easy travelling distance - unlike in the metropolitan areas. There are a few on Ebay at present, but only fetching about £2500 - one with a start price of £3K has no bids.
Unless you have to sell, I'd suggest waiting a few months when ther market normally picks up a bit...
