hey all, I have not yet been able to fully drive the car due to not being able to get road tax without the V5, apparently you cannot get tax with just the little slip any longer, which is a pain
I was going to make a start on it on Friday but I instead had a mate come and help me clear my garden, and OMG the difference is staggering, anyway, I had a little time today only a little because I am very sore from the last two days.
I started on the headliner, everything I have read on here suggests complete removal to refurb. I got stuck. I removed the two sun visors, the handle things above the door, the roof lights and the two plastic covers at the front part, I did not remove the mid or rear plastic parts as they seemed to not want to come off, so I assumed they are not meant to. I managed to prise only one of the white plastic clips off the roof without destroying anything but it took ages and looking at it it does not look like it was ever meant to be removed, so any tips on removal of the remaining three would be great.
At that point I gave up on the roof line for the moment, fearing breaking something and instead looked at the drivers door.
AS I said before it would not lock, and I was unable to open from the inside, the pull handle did nothing, and felt it was not attached to anything.
After removal of the door panel I could indeed see it was no longer attached, and attaching it (small screw) resolved it, however the inner handle does not fold away flush like the passenger side.
I notise a spring on the handle, and this is not connected to anything so I think I maybe need a new door handle (inside) however, it does now lock properly which is good.
For those who did not realise, I am a Computer/Web Geek but have very little knowledge on cars. Not bad on electrics, and my wife drives a classic 1993 mini so I often fiddle with that, but lets be honest the mini is a piece of cake for anyone to work on
