misfire on cylinder 1, 3.0 V6.

I have a misfire on cylinder 1 and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice whether I can still use the car till Saturday when it goes in to the garage.
I will only be travelling aprox 40 till then.

I wouldn't... in case you're tipping fuel into a non-firing cylinder. It could damage the cat' and the lamda sensors.

Why don't you have a quick look and see what the problem is?

I'd guess you just have a loose spark plug or HT lead (either at the spark plug or on the coil).

If you have even a basis mechanical aptitude.. take the HT lead off completely. Examine the ends. They should be bright and "moist".. not white dry and powdery (corroded).

Remove the spark plug. Check the liitle doodah on the top thread is tight and gap it to 0.7mm.

Refit the plug (but don't overtighten it, just because it was loose before). Hopefully the plug well was not full of oil... (You could have a leaking spark plug gasket under the rocker) but it will have drained down the plug hole now anyway.

Refit plug. Refit HT lead. Should work okay.
