Sticking throttle on Spider

My throttle sticks on my spider, a little harder than normal push gets past it but it's a pain. Got used to clutching while 'unsticking'. It should be smooth I s'pose.
Anything I could try to sort it?

One more thing, can a dodgy oxygen senser affect performance badly?

Re: Sticking throttle on Spider

Oxygen (lambda) sensor can affect running VERY badly, as can many other things. What are you experiencing?

As for your throttle, might need a new cable. Check the run of the cable for snags and obvious signs of wear. Also check the pedal for free movement.

...and finally, WELCOME

Re: Sticking throttle on Spider

My GTV has seriously sticking throttle - undriveably so, 'cos it sticks open! As far as I can tell, its down to the "transfer quadrant" or whatever you call it, that converts the left-hand drive setup for RHD - basically the cable from the pedal hooks onto a swivel that connects to the cable to the throttle body - and my swivel sticks - badly.

Of course its totally inaccessible without removing half the engine - well the inlet side anyway so the old girl has been parked up until I can get her under cover and rectified. Hope yours is easier to fix.

I guess it comes down to the old answer - Alfas HATE not being used - thrash them daily and no probs, use 'em for special days only and they sulk
