Hmmm spider clutch replaced now runs poor

I am new to the site and in need of advice. I have replaced the clutch in my 1986 Spider Veloce. Now, the car starts but will only run with feathering the accelerator. It will not idle. It starts fine. The flywheel was removed from the car but allegedly lined up properly on re-installation. The two sensors were placed back where they came from. Will the car start if a sensor is bad? How can they be tested? Would the car start if the flywheel was not timed properly??

Thanks for any help you may be able to give.
