Hi, I've had a 98 GTV for a year now, and I've never used the alarm as I didn't get the fob when I bought it
The inevitable has happened... my battery died, and so I replaced it with a brand new one. I was made aware that the car's alarm worked
The guy obviously disarmed the alarm before he sold it to me.
So now I can't switch the damn thing off, so my car's outside on the street with the battery disconnected until I can sort this out, so quick responses would be hugely appreciated.
So I can either call my nearest Alfa dealer and ask for help (which I know they will financially rape me) and get a fob, and hope this code I have written down is the right one, or kill the alarm somehow. Is it possible to get it like it was without a fob? I have the master key. Failing that, how can I disconnect it without affecting the immobiliser?
In the manual, it says there is a round key that switches the alarm off near the wheel arch. but a) I don't have that key and b) there is no keyhole in said place, just what looks like the siren. So I disconnected the siren while I played around, to stop annoying the neighbours.
The engine still starts up, but the hazard lights flash at weird intervals.
Any help would be golden.
