Looking at a Spider 3.2V6. Advice sought

So I've been looking at 916 Spiders for sale for the past year. Just recently a 3.2V6 has come up for sale with low miles (<40k) and only two owners from new.

Took it for a run recently and all seemed well. The only noticeable issue was a slow moving temp gauge suggesting a possible thermostat problem but not in itself a deal breaker. Unfortunately it's on Heinz57 tyres but it passed it's MOT in May with just an advisory on one of the ditch finders.

On lifting the bonnet there was a noticeable top end ticking - sounded like a camshaft. Is this something to be wary of? (BTW, cambelt changed at 30k miles)

Everything else seemed to work OK including the AC.

Coming from a 156 2.5V6 I'm fairly familiar with the foibles of the Busso (and indeed Alfas of this generation) but is there anything in particular I should check out on the Spider.

Any advice eagerly sought before I get the cheque book out

I bought my 3.2 V6 spider about 6 months ago and I'm very pleased with it. It didn't start off too well though as it needed new head gaskets straight away. It had recently had a new radiator and thermostat so I reckon only half the job had been done. A few other other niggles but nothing major.

There have been one or two 3.2 916 spiders on autotrader for 11k and 12k recently. Would be interesting to know if they sold at this level...?

Are there many 916 3.2 spiders on here?

Sounds like there aren't any other 3.2L 916 spiders on here?

About the ticking noise. Have you heard other bussos before?
I ask this because they all do make a ticking noise. It's from the hydro-(something i can't translate to english) and perfectly normal. Without hearing a second one to compare you wont be able to tell if it is a healthy ticking or a it's going to blow ticking.
