Both are italian and both can put a smile on my face when needed.

BUT, no Alfa has ever felt mundane to me. Alfa's have a split personality. If you are tired and just driving for the sake of going from a to b then Alfas are competant mile munchers that behave and do the job well. If you are wanting a bit of fun or stress relief and you drive the Alfa hard it becomes a beautiful rocketship that sounds amazing and corners like it is on rails.
The alfa that bests fits that to me was the 147. Nice car driven normally but when driven hard it is like a completely different car and is brilliant.
