I'm not on the best of terms with my passenger window right now (I have a LHD car). Background story: Bought a GTV (99 V6 phase 2) knowing the window didn't work, previous owner said "sometimes it does but its a gamble if it'll go back up again"
Before I had the chance to look at it I had a break on that side so the car was given to a car glass garage. They called a couple of days later saying that they couldn't fit the window becuase they needed a working motor and mine was fried. So they ordered a new one and installed it. Got another phone call, they couldn't get it working with the button in the car. It ended with them fitting the window by connecting the motor straight to a battery.
In Spetimber I will be taking my car to the UK and it'll be quite useful to have a working window on the reight side of the car to pay tolls and parking etc. so I've now got to work and 2 problems have come up:
1) They weren't lying, motor works fine but buttons don't, you can hear a "click" from behind the dash but nothing happens, any common faults to check?
2) Since they knew the window wouldn't be used it seems they cheated a LOT on the installation of the window :S it doesn't seem to go down straight and it all seems crooked. halfway down it seems to be pushing the inside of the door a lot, I filmed me winding it down and you can see the middle of the door buckle out where that bolt is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ4Rn3EB414
The window seems completly off, so how is the windown adjusted in avery possible axis? It seems nearly as if the glass itself is at too steep an angle?!
