This has been driving me nuts for about 12 months now ... Whenever I drive my GTV on anything other than perfectly smooth tarmac, something's constantly making a jingly rattling sound somewhere between the right side of the steering wheel and the door. It's incredibly annoying!
It's a b*gger to track down because you can't really stick your head down there while the car's in motion! I've tried thumping various bits of the interior and can't get it to happen that way. It sounds like metal clip or a small screw or washer has perhaps come loose and is rattling around - sometimes it goes away for a couple of days, maybe because whatever's loose is getting lodged somewhere.
Any tips for tracking it down? I've had the steering column shroud off, and there's nothing loose in there, also had the driver's mirror interior panel off, and the driver's door skin off recently, nothing there either. Can't find anything beneath the steering wheel / around the fusebox that doesn't seem to be firmly attached.
What might be a good idea to try next? I noticed there's access panel in the end of the dash that you can get to when the doors open, I'm planning to take that off next and have a feel around.
