Just when I was beginning to feel smug about how well the spider was running, she decided to remind me that she was Italian....
Driving home yesterday my throttle became completely unresponsive above about 2k rpm. She seemed normal up to this, but as soon as I hit just over 2k revs the throttle would go dead - unresponsive, push the pedal down but nothing happens. She didn't cut out, just no response to the pedal input.
This happened in every gear, at the same rpm. If I changed gear prior to reaching the 'barrier' she would again run normally up to the same just over 2k point.
If I revved her in neutral, again throttle stopped responding at 2k rpm.
I stopped on the way to pick up my son from school, and when I restarted her, everything was back to normal again! Normal response right through the rev range, no hesitation anywhere...
