Suspension & subframe rip off??
Iíve recently purchased an immaculate Ď99 spider, but endured the shock of a lifetime yesterday when Alfa Aid in Maidenhead were fixing a minor glitch on the electric roof - they decided to check the rest of the car on a ramp and informed me my suspension bushes were shot and had worn the rear sub frame, not only that but the exhaust was rusted and would eventually drop off and the front disks were also rusted through. Total damage at least £2000. I took the car to DTR in SW London this morning for a second opinion, the mechanic showed me minor play in one bush, nothing to worry about now, exhaust hole tiny, nothing to worry about, front disks fine. No need to cancel my trip to Europe in 2 weeks after all then?? Whats going on here - are Alfa Aid really that bad? The car drives fine - no clonking, no inner front tyre wear and no noises from the brakes whatsoever. I saw the underneath of the car with my own eyes and can only come to the conclusion that Alfa Aid are over dramatising in order to rip me off. Anyone else have any horror stories??
