Lambda, Maf or something else?

Now i am driving my GTV TS more regularly i am starting to note the (many) various issues.

One on the "Fix soon" list is with the engine management. The car starts, drives and Idles fine but as i slow for junctions when i dip the clutch the revs drop to 0, then bounce back up to 1000, This started to happen only once or twice per journey and would be fine when it got back to 1000rpm but today it bounced several times between 0 and 1000rpm.

I don't think it is actually reacing 0 rpm as it doesn't stall.

I don't think i am down on power but i calculated the last tanks consumption at 23MPG! also there is quite a bit of steam from the exhaust (which i have put down to lack of use).

When the engine is cold it is very jerky and i have to be quite heavy footed to keep it smooth.

There is no evidence of past replacment of the MAF or lambda so is suspect one of these are at fault.

could anyone please advise if this sounds like a specific sensor issue?

Have you tried unplugging the MAF? It should run at a default setting if its unplugged but will at least rule that out.

I had an intermitant misfire when the engine warmed up which was sorted when I replaced the lambda.

Have you checked the flexi-hose for splits/cracks.?
Mine was doing the same. Split hose was the culprit.
