Hi, just thought someone might be interested in this.
I had a problem with my Meta Alarm Fob Button; the raised "ribs" were so mashed that I was having to operate the fob by using another key to press the button
So I got a craft knife and cut the grooves out to a diamond so I could press the button, but that looked a bit untidy.
So I took one of the round alfa badges out of a spare red key (I got 6 keys with my car!); I placed it on top of the alarm fob as close to the edge as possible, and gently scored round it with a craft knife.
I used a Dremmel craft drill thing with a sanding bit to enlarge the hole out to the size of the badge (14mm)
I secured the badge in place using a strip of 14mm wide sticky back plastic.
Better looking than a fob with a hole in it I think
To give a spring effect I used a 6mm piece of silicon tube, you can get this from fishing tackle shops. I used 7mm diameter tube but it was a bit tight over the button, I'd go for 10mm diameter if you can get it.
